Saw Spiderman 2 today (opening day! and no lines b/c we went to an early 4:55pm showing). Very good movie, although I notice that whenever Google does these movie outings, we Googlers tend to laugh at moments that I bet money aren't laughed at by other audiences. For example, whenever Tobey Maguire had a strange wide-eyed look on his face (it seems to come naturally to him) and said something a bit lame, or he and Kirsten Dunst shared some romantic moment, we'd bust a gut laughing. This happened several times back when we went to see The Matrix Revolutions. When Trinity and Neo were babbling on about how they loved each other and nothing had changed since the last time they expressed their love, everyone busted out laughing for some reason. Normally I wouldn't think it was funny but since everyone else was snickering, the scene became funny to me as well.

Anyways, since we're on the topic of Spiderman and Kirsten Dunst is in it, I'd like to comment on her. I really admire her as an actress because of her impressive, diverse resume. She could very easily have fallen into the trap of doing only teen movies, but she chose excellent roles. Her movies range from the teeny bopper movies (Bring It On) to artsy/indie (The Virgin Suicides) to mainstream blockbuster hits (Spiderman). She's an incredibly versatile actress who isn't typecasted into a particular role, which is important in that business.

Yaaaaaaaaawn I'm exhausted. Nickey's asleep, so maybe I will hit the sack too.

Why is it so mind-boggling that I eat Korean food? I DID grow up in a Korean family. My mom is the cook. What in the hell else would I eat?

It's amazing how ignorant and rude some people are. Not just on the above comment, but about other things that were said.

I'm also annoyed that I didn't chew them out right there on the spot when they deserve it. Grrr.

If you're in need of an ice cream cake, I highly recommend Coldstone's Creamery for your ice cream cake needs. I had some strawberry ice cream cake from there and it was AMAZING. The cake consisted of alternating layers of delicious strawberry ice cream and what appeared to be red velvet cake (cake which is a deep red color, with a light chocolate flavor). If you didn't know already, I LOVE Southern food/soul food and Cajun food. I could be from one of the Carolina states or Georgia or any of the states from the Deep South since I love that kind of food so much. At work, every Tuesday they've been dishing out Soul Food for dinner at one of the cafe stations. It features blackened catfish, collard greens with ham hock or bacon, candied yams, red beans and rice, warm cornbread where honey butter occasionally makes a guest appearance, and BBQ ribs. Ohh... I can't resist. Topping that off with a dessert of red velvet cake would be heaven. Or an extra 10 pounds of padding?

One of these days, I'm going to make a soul food dinner and invite people over to pig out. A proposed menu:
-collard greens
-black eyed peas
-lima beans
-candied yams
-cornbread
-macaroni and cheese
-chicken and dumplings
-fried catfish
-dirty rice
-red velvet cake
-iced sweet tea

Mmmmm..... *RHAHRGHAGHAHRRRHGGHHAHALKALALAHRGGGHH* (homer's drooling)

What a scare. For those of you who don't know already, Nickey had an emergency yesterday which required him to be put under general anesthesia (i.e. knocked out) for surgery on his paw. It was a very alarming day full of worry and stress, but in the end he turned out okay. He's wearing one of those plastic cone collars and is back to his normal self.

Goes to show you that you are never prepared for an accident, but you have to react quickly and make smart decisions under pressure. Never an easy thing to do.

Bastantes sobres lenguas. Necesito enseñar mi perrito a no despertarme tan temprano. No me gusto despertando en 5:00AM. Otras personas me dicen que debo no hacer caso de él. Hago esto, pensando que él parará raspando. Pero no, él raspa por más de 30 minutos a veces.

Estoy cansada, entonces ahora dormiré. Buenas noches.

Long weekend was nice because it meant I could sleep in! Well, sort of. Nickey doesn't seen to understand that weekends = sleeping in, so he proceeded to wake me up early (5-6am) as usual.

For all the women out there who feel their biological clocks ticking and want to be a mommy, I recommend that you get a puppy first. Then you'll have a taste of what it's like to have a baby. For reals.
