Weird fact of the day: English Breakfast Tea was actually invented in Edinburgh, Scotland. A tea master by the name of Drysdale came up with the idea of marketing his blend as "Breakfast Tea". The concept soon spread to England where tea had become enormously popular. Like today's fo'-shizzle-my-nizzle Caucasian teens who embrace rap culture, the English of the 19th Century were crazy for anything even remotely Chinese, where tea in it's most purest form originated.* Tea houses in London began adding "English" to the name, and the tea became and remains one of the most popular teas in England.Direct from MrBreakfast.com- my current favorite website! If I ever get another dog, I'm going to get a pembroke welsh corgi :-) I notice I like all the weird looking dogs- pugs, dachshunds, corgis... wonder what that says about me.

I have no idea what to write about, so I will write about.... *drumroll* ... desserts! It is amazing how I can eat some appetizers, eat half of my salad, less than half of my entree dish, and still finish my entire dessert. Shouldn't I be full? That's what happened tonight. I ate some appetizers, pushed my Caesar salad away after a few bites (waaaaay too salty), enjoyed half of my jambalaya (very tasty, but just too much), and then finished my pecan pie and caramel ice cream dessert. All of it. I even ate part of someone else's beignets du monde (like a little fried donut with powdered sugar and chocolate syrup). Mmmm, it was the best pecan pie I've ever had. At lunch, I had a light and satisfying strawberry shortcake for dessert. I couldn't resist it; it was calling my name. Alrighty, that was a pretty pointless blog entry. But you took the time to read it, so oh well. :)

Imagine running 2 marathons in a row. That's what Friday and Saturday felt like to me. I felt like I was hyperventilating after some of the dances on Friday night that I didn't know if I could go back onstage. And waking up Saturday morning, I was so exhausted and still had to do it again Saturday night. I was very nervous Friday night, but Saturday I was too tired to be nervous. I noticed my muscles were tiring out a lot faster Saturday so I'm sure I was a bit more wobbly. In any case, the shows went wonderfully and through all the hard work, time, sweat, and long Friday nights, it was a sweet ending. I met some incredibly generous, beautiful people who helped me to remember how much I missed performing. If you've ever been to Foothill College, it's built on a bunch of hills so you have to hike up a long steep hill to get to the theater. One of them was so kind to offer to drive me up the hill so I didn't have to irritate my knees. This required her to drive all the way around campus to get back to the parking lot and then hike back up the hill herself. It was so nice of her to do this. Now I'm just going to try and recover from the intense rehearsals and performances. I think my stomach shrank from not eating enough so I get full a lot more quickly now. That does not make me happy! I'm sure in due time, it will expand back to its normal size ;-)

I saw an ultrasound of my future niece-or-nephew today! It looked like a big black blob, but there was some peanut-shaped thingie there so he/she's real :-) A green tea float would taste wonderful right about now... mmmmmm.
