Woohoo! I FINALLY got my Comments working in my blog. Some of the template code was messed up so after much tinkering, I got it working. Now y'all can comment away on my thought-provoking posts!

Never have I felt so confused gift-shopping as I did tonight while shopping for my brother & sister-in-law's baby shower gift. Not only was it overwhelming trying to decide what to get, it was overwhelming trying to understand what everything was! SJ and I were seriously scratching our heads over items, spending minutes upon minutes comparing them. What I had thought to be a 15-20 minute shopping spree turned into an hour and a half. The store closed at 9pm, but we left at 9:30.. heehee :) In any case, I'm proud of how the gift turned out and will post more specifics about it after the baby shower, so as not to spoil the surprise for the happy parents-to-be (my brother is among the elite handful of people who actually visit my blog).

Exploring the infant section of the store made me think about how much money the "baby industry" rakes in. I'm sure there are exceptions, but my assumption is that maybe 95% of parents are willing to pull out all the stops for their baby especially if it's their first child. Why wouldn't you want the very best for your baby? The debate isn't just about breastfeeding vs. the bottle. Now they include topics such as silicone vs. latex pacifiers/nipples. Apparently studies have shown that babies develop latex allergies, something I didn't know until today. I'm sure there's an even hotter debate about flannel vs. cotton receiving blankets. I do have to say though, baby clothes and socks are adorable, especially anything with a Classic Pooh theme :)

**Update: baby shower has now passed, so here are the much-anticipated photos of my gift!

I've been posting a lot more photos in my blog entries recently because I just discovered that Blogger lets you publish photos right into your post. I can't believe I didn't notice that; this whole time, I was uploading photos to my gallery and then displaying them in my posts via an img tag.

Anyway, here are a couple fun pics to enjoy.

Me and my grandma

If only I were that tall.

Man alive, I <3 fondue. Tonight was my first-ever fondue experience, and I enjoyed every single bite. From the delicious cheese fondue appetizer to the tasty grilled meats to a sweet ending (chocolate fondue dessert), the food just kept coming and coming. I was anticipating this dinner all day to the point that I even ate a light lunch to save up for the huge meal I knew I would be eating that night. I wasn't disappointed one bit. We went to La Fondue, a well-known fondue place in downtown Saratoga. The nicest thing about our dinner was that we were being treated. I should take care of my drunk friends more often ;-)

Look at all that meat! This is what awaited us after enjoying a delicious cheese fondue appetizer.

Butter galore.

Look at this chocolate fondue. It was a nice way to end the meal. Ohhhh.. so good. One pot held decadent chocolate fondue and the other had milk chocolate fondue flavored with amaretto. *drool*

Latte with dessert. I just couldn't resist :( Despite its caffeine, hopefully I'll be able to fall asleep from the food coma.

I couldn't find a good costume for Nickey, so he had to settle for a frilly pumpkin-adorned jester-type collar. As you can tell, I am a butterfly. We had much fun at Googleween 2005.
