Nickey, SJ and I spent part of yesterday evening at the vet's office. It looks like my poor little guy (Nickey, not SJ) has a combination of a bladder and prostate infection. He didn't enjoy having the vet feel his prostate, but he behaved pretty well. He even tried to scale the examining table (jumping from a nearby bench)-- didn't realize how strong he was! He almost made it too. Nickey is officially 21.9 pounds... so he DID get heavier.
He's now on antibiotics so hopefully it should clear up. Our vet is in San Ramon-- a far drive from Mountain View, but worth it because they have an excellent staff. One of Nickey's regulars specializes in pugs! Check out
Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center. They come highly recommend by the Norcal Pug Club.

Poor little pug... :(
Clee's health tip of the day: EAT BREAKFAST. It will make a huge difference in how you feel throughout the day.
It's interesting how a song can evoke such strong nostalgia. Once you hear it, your mind takes you back to a totally random moment in your life. Here are some for me. Warning: very very random. And don't make fun of what I listen to.
Song/Artist: Westside / TQ
Date: Aug 1998
Description of memory: Being crammed into my dorm room with a bunch of people, relaxing after a long day of exploring Chinatown. I handed out those cans of Kerns fruit drinks to everyone and this song was playing on the radio. I vividly remember my friend's boyfriend-at-the-time singing along. I was a young bright-eyed college freshman and it was Welcome Week.
Song/Artist: Brick / Ben Folds Five
Date: 1996-97
Description of memory: Unfortunately this doesn't evoke a specific memory, but hearing it just reminds me of my junior year in high school. Not a good year.
Song/Artist: Everywhere / Michelle Branch
Date: Summer 2001
Description of memory: This song was played in "American Pie 2", which I went to see with a few coworkers as a team bonding event. What a way to get to know each other- with a raunchy movie. In any case, this song was playing during that scene where Finch is putting up photos on his wall and one of them is of Stifler's mom, Stifler, and himself. He covers up Stifler's face w/ his hand so he can look at himself and Stifler's mom as a couple... haha.
Song/Artist: In The Waiting Line / Zero 7
Date: 2004-ish?
Description of memory: Easy... Garden State! And feeling completely depressed after walking out of the theatre. Thanks, Bambi. Er, Zach Braff.

Nickey was pooped while we walked around Stanford Shopping Center, so he parked himself in front of Crabtree & Evelyn and sprawled out on the cold tile floor. *Ahhhh*

Nickey & SJ relaxing while Clee shops!
If you've been wondering why I haven't updated my
